WATERUPS® WICKING CELLS - 12 Pack $184

The WaterUps® Wicking Cell is an Australian-designed and manufactured solution ideal for a wide range of garden and landscape watering needs. Its modular design allows for quick and easy assembly of a wicking bed, also known as a “self-watering” bed.

Each WaterUps® Wicking Cell measures 400mm(L) x 400mm(W) x 130mm(H) and features provisions for an inlet and overflow pipe. Made from recycled polypropylene, the cells consist of a sturdy deck with four “wicking legs” that can be interlocked to create a raised platform or cut to fit your desired space. The legs can be filled with soil or potting mix to act as wicks, drawing water from the reservoir below and evenly moistening the soil above.

The cells are connected using cross-shaped joiners, making them adaptable to any garden bed configuration, whether large or small. When assembled, the WaterUps® Wicking Cells can hold up to 120 litres of water per square metre of cells.

Each cell weighs approximately 800g and comes in packs of 8, with a combined weight of under 7kg, making them easy to transport. They can also be cut to fit narrower or irregular spaces using a jigsaw or hand saw.

The system is filled via the inlet pipe using a garden hose, and excess water flows out through the overflow pipe, ensuring excellent drainage and preventing waterlogging. The air gap between the soil and water below allows the soil to breathe, promoting healthier plant growth.

The coating also ensures the timbers stay securely together.
